This week in proptech, approximately 15 companies announced funding rounds, totaling $323 million (-43.6%) invested in real estate technology companies. 41.27% of deal volume went to companies in commercial real estate, including multifamily and office, while 61.3% of dollar volume went to Boston-based companies.

Notable Rounds

On April 12, 2021, SimpliSafe, a Boston-based, Hellman & Friedman-owned residential real estate tech security company, announced a $130 million private equity round from Farmers Insurance. On April 14, 2021, HqO, a Boston-based commercial real estate tech startup, announced a $60 million Series C from JLL Spark, Cushman & Wakefield, DivoWest, Suffolk Capital, Navitas Capital, Accomplice, and 4 other investors. On April 13, 2021, Tink, a Berlin-based residential smart home tech startup, announced a $48 million Series D from Global Founders Capital, SevenVentures, Rocket Internet, and Cadence Growth Capital. On April 14, 2021, dcbel, a Montréal, Quebec-based residential sustainability startup, announced a $40 million round from Coatue Management and 3 other investors. On April 15, 2021, Saltbox, an Atlanta-based flex-industrial real estate tech startup, announced a $10.6 million from Playground Global, XYZ Venture Capital and Wilshire Lane Partners. And on April 12, 2021, Psquared, a Barcelona, Catalonia-based commercial real estate co-working startup, announced a $2 million Seed round.
